Oude looierswijk binnen het centrum van Straatsburg, met grachten en hangbruggen. Een uur rondlopen vanaf de Cathédrale Notre-Dame. Vermijd weekenden in december, dan staat heel de wijk vol kerstmarktkraampjes.
Berg-kasteel uit de twaalfde eeuw, hersteld door keizer Wilhelm II rond 1900. Twintig minuten rijden vanaf SĂ©lestat naar boven, daarna twee uur door de torens, kerkers en de kanonkamer. Beste uitzicht over de hele Elzas-vlakte.
Klassieker van de streek: zuurkool met varkensvlees, in elke winstub te krijgen. Restaurant Au Tire-Bouchon serveert een versie met confit-eend en vijf soorten vlees. In de wintermaanden razend druk, lunch is rustiger.
Twaalf kilometer langs wijngaarden tussen twee van de mooiste dorpen. Eguisheim is in 2013 "meest mooie dorp van Frankrijk" verkozen, terecht. Stop bij wijnhuizen voor proeverijen, vooral Riesling en GewĂĽrztraminer.

Travelled May 2026, 4 nights, couple. Strasbourg package with Ninjastorm — went on Tuesday, course was quiet with no queues. Access was in the package. Wandered through the old town, watched the Ill from the bridges. The window let in street noise. Recommended if you want an organised city break without the crowds.

Travelled April 2026, 2 nights, friends. Four of us booked the Strasbourg package with Ninjastorm — course access was included, nice not having to sort anything. Petite France with its half-timbered houses was very photogenic. The lift jolted when it stopped. We'll be back next year.

Travelled March 2026, 3 nights, family. Booked the Strasbourg package with Ninjastorm, the 6- and 9-year-olds finally burnt off some energy. Course access was included, nothing to arrange. We also took in Notre-Dame with its astronomical clock. Family room was roomy enough, pillows a touch soft. We'll definitely be back.

Travelled February 2026, 2 nights, couple. Booked the Strasbourg package with Ninjastorm — entry was included, all in one booking. The course was tougher than expected, but a laugh. Hotel was quietly tucked away, Petite France walkable. The neighbour upstairs was an early riser. Recommended if you want an active city break sorted in one go.

Voormalig klooster, beroemd om het Isenheim-altaar van GrĂĽnewald uit 1515. Verlicht boven het renoveerde middenschip, een van de meest indrukwekkende christelijke kunstwerken die je kan zien. Twee uur.
De Marché de Noël uit 1570, een van de oudste van Europa. Verspreid over twaalf pleinen in het centrum. Probeer vin chaud (warme wijn met kruiden) en bredala (Elzassische koekjes). Doordeweeks de moeite, weekends razend druk.
