The city trip includes 1, 2, or 3 nights in a hotel with breakfast, plus participation in The Lottery Hunt. You will stay in a centrally located three- or four-star hotel – the perfect base to discover Ghent's rich culture, cozy bars and restaurants, and playful urban adventure.
Ghent: The Lottery Hunt – City Adventure & Puzzle TourThis interactive city game in Ghent is a super fun way to discover the rich history, iconic places, and hidden corners of the city. During a journey of about 90 minutes, you will walk 3.4 km through the historic city center and solve riddles and puzzles along the way. You will learn, among other things, why the people of Ghent proudly carry the nickname stroppendragers, how Napoleon influenced the industrial revolution in Ghent, and experience the stories of historical figures like Jacob van Artevelde.
Together with your group, you will follow an exciting story in which you play the role of a time agent. Your mission? To track down a mysterious time traveler who is gradually changing the past of Ghent. Only by cleverly solving puzzles and unraveling clues can you restore history and save the future.
Along the way, you will discover both well-known attractions and secret spots, while enjoying a unique mix of culture, adventure, and play. The arrangement is completely self-guided via an app, allowing you to play at your own pace – ideal with friends, family, or colleagues.
Please note: children under 9 years may find the puzzles challenging, but are of course welcome to join.

Brugge zonder de toeristenstroom. Studentenstad met 80.000 jongeren, een middeleeuws stadshart, en een autovrij centrum sinds 2017.
Het meest intacte middeleeuwse kasteel van Vlaanderen, midden in het centrum, twaalfde-eeuws. Twee uur door donjon, kerker en wapenkamer. De audio-tour is geschreven door Wouter Deprez, niet de standaard saaie commentaar.
Het iconische uitzicht over de drie torens van Gent: Sint-Niklaaskerk, Belfort, en Sint-Baafskathedraal op Ă©Ă©n lijn. Net zo mooi als de skyline van Brugge maar veel minder druk. Beste rond zonsondergang, gratis.
Het altaarstuk van Jan en Hubert van Eyck uit 1432, na vijf jaar restauratie opnieuw te zien. Een paar uur als je echt wil kijken — ga rustig zitten op de banken en laat het werk op je inwerken.
De rivaliserende paarse kraampjes van Twee Cuberdonsmannen die elkaar al jaren in haat omarmen, kunststof publiciteit. De cuberdon zelf (paars snoepje met framboos-vulling) is niet voor iedereen, maar lokaal.

Travelled May 2026, 4 nights, as a couple. Arrived on a Tuesday, Ghent was quiet. The Lottery Hunt city game was included — we took it at our own pace, you end up in unexpected corners. City parking was pricier than hoped, so we left the car from day two. Good pick for a well-organised city break.

Travelled April 2026, 2 nights, with friends. Ghent package for the four of us, the Lottery Hunt city game was bundled — fun way to find your way around. Gravensteen Castle stuck with us. Dinner on the Korenmarkt after. TV remote half-worked, didn't really matter. Coming back next year.

Travelled March 2026, 3 nights, family. Booked the Ghent package for the family — The Lottery Hunt was included and kept the kids (9 and 12) entertained. Family room with a bunk bed, extra space. Stopped at Saint Bavo's Cathedral for the Ghent Altarpiece. Mattress creaked a bit. Definitely coming back.

Travelled February 2026, 2 nights, as a couple. Booked the Ghent package with The Lottery Hunt — the city game was part of it, nice touch. Wandered the Patershol, the clues took us into corners we'd never have spotted. Gravensteen Castle after. Window let some street noise in, earplugs fixed it.

Klein vissersbuurtje met smalle straten en restaurants in zestiende-eeuwse panden. Veel Vlaamse keuken (waterzooi, stoverij, mosselen) tegen redelijke prijzen. Probeer brasserie HA' voor traditioneel of Pakhuis voor modern.
Skurriele kroeg in Patershol, eigenaar Lieven loopt rond in middeleeuwse kostuums tussen oude rommel. Bestel een Trappist en laat het over je heen komen. Geen kaart, betalen wat de uitbater redelijk vindt. Op woensdag gesloten.
